So this was the day that Isaac was to hit Tampa but fortunately it was a non-event. The day was cloudy, breezy and rained off and on but there was no threat to health or property. Since official convention events were cancelled it gave us a chance to enjoy local sites. A few of us drove to Ybor City (pronounced E-bore) which is a historic Cuban district in Tampa. Our main purpose for the trip was to pick up our credentials for the Nuestra Noche event at the Cuban Club. Specials guests at this party include Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio and Suzanna Martinez (Gov of NM).
We picked up handrolled cigars for a few of our favorite menfolk and enjoyed a robust cup of Cuban coffee at the convention headquarters of the National Journal. We spotted Fox News correspondent Major Garrett and many other media elite whose names we could not remember.
