It's offical: Buys Wins!

On Friday afternoon the race for 42nd Legislative District, Pos. 2 was certified and Vincent Buys was formally declared the winner. There were a few hiccups during the 3 days of the Buys/Linville recount but in the end Buys prevailed with a 149 vote margin. Congratulations Vincent and Team Buys on a hard fought campaign! Vincent Buys, Jason Overstreet and Doug Ericksen head to Olympia next week for orientation and will be sworn in on January 10, 2011.

In other 42nd legislative news: Senator-elect Doug Ericksen was elected Minority Whip for the Republican Senatorial Caucus. He will serve as the fourth ranking Republican which is a significant achievement for an incoming freshman Senator. Ericksen will be responsible for vote counting on his party’s behalf and rounding up party members to be on the floor when it’s time to vote. Congratulations to Senator-elect Ericksen on his leadership position. The 2011 legislative session begins on January 11.
