Cindy reports on the status of Washington State

Phyllis Schlafly celebrates her 85th birthday

Huck!

The capstone on Saturday evening was the special appearance of Mike Huckabee. Huck was vintage Huck -- part preacher, part motivator and part patriot. He is a master storyteller with a profound message of faith, hope and optimism. His speech was outstanding so here are a few highlights:

He said it's time to jackhammer the four corners around the United Nations and float them down the East River.

He called on Barack Obama to stop apologizing for the excesses of the United States and start believing in the exceptionalism of our nation.

He called former green czar Van Jones a government parasite and noted that Jones has even admitted that he created not one green job.

Huck also noted that government run health care in Massachussets and Tennessee have been disastrious so now they want to try it in the other 48 states.

By the way, Phyllis recieved the American Hero of the Century Award by Faith 2 Action, the nation's largest network of pro-family groups.

The slimy tentacles of George Soros

The format of the Take Back America conference is workshop based with each workshop led by experts in that field. A few:

How to Deal with Global Warming, Cap and Trade
How to Defend America Against Missile Attack
How to Stop Socialism in Health Care
How to Use New Media Tehnology
How to Deal with vote Fraud, the Census and ACORN
How to Defend Traditional Marriage and DOMA
How to Defeat Con Con, National Popular Vote and ERA

Shockingly, the name of George Soros keeps coming up in one anti-American issue after another! He is bent on restructuring the U.S. Constitution and is having appalling success using: ACORN, National Popular Vote, Move-on.org, Progressive Majority, and the Secretary of State Project. His dirty fingers are also implicated in voter fraud in multiple states. George Soros understands that election battles are won and lost in the offices of Secretaries of States so his efforts have focused on electing Progressive Majority Candidates to Secretary of State positions. In 2008 he won five of five seats! Pray against the evil he perpetrates.

Michelle Bachmann Rocks!

Move over Sarah Palin. Michelle Bachmann (R-MN) is gifted with brains, persuasive capacity, beauty and star power! Rep. Bachmann is uniquely principled in a political environment where corruption, dishonesty and power grabbing is rampant.

Citing the inventory of government take-overs -- bank industry, auto industry, energy industry, student loans and the attempt to socialize health care -- Michelle coined the term "gangster government". Who can disagree? (except a big government liberal)

Michelle also gave us a preview of the "Take Back America" road map leading up to the 2010 elections:

In order to defeat the plans of the left we must first defeat their leaders. Once that is accomplished the first order of business is to defund the left. The next step is to repeal a multitude of suffocating laws. The result of these actions will unleash America's greatness. Michelle gave us just a peek at what is unfolding in the conservative leadership movement and it will be exciting to see the 2010 campaign take shape. This is the Michelle who belongs in the White House!

Joe the Plumber!

Best Speaker Yet!

Joe the Plumber lived up to his celebrated image -- he was a frank, straight talking, man's man. Clad in his trademark flannel shirt and shaved head he wowed the crowd with his no-nonsense speech. He loves God and his son and made that abundantly clear. A few highlights:

"I'm not a Democrat or a Republican, I'm an American. My allegiance is not to any political party but my allegiance is to God and America."

"I've been to Washington and it's dirtier than anything I've seen as a plumber. It stains the soul. Politicians take advantage of the people and that disgusts me."

"Freedom is a responsibility."

Joe the Plumber believes in actions not words and he used the words of Benjamin Franklin to underscore that, "Well done is better than well said."

Joe the Plumber!

Joe the Plumber is presented with a golden wrench and golden plunger by Congressmen Tom Price (R-GA) and Steve King (R-IA) and Phyllis Schlafly

Wow moments...

650 attendees transferring grassroots energy into action.

Sonic Flood is here!! (amazing Christian music artist)

Did you know? The fundamental purpose of a missile defense shield in Poland and the Czech Republic is to intercept missiles launched toward the Eastern Seaboard and Florida. The West Coast is fairly well protected by the defense shields installed in Alaska but the ENTIRE East Coast is vulnerable to rouge missile attack! Now where have we heard about this in the main stream media?!

The Environmental Protection Agency is implementing Cap and Trade through the back door and it won't even take Senate passage to inflict this monstrosity on unsuspecting Americans. The impact will be close to $3000 per family per year and will hit lower income households the hardest!

School Kids Taught to Praise Obama

This video is the buzz of this conference. Every parent of children in a government-run school should see this:

Incomparible Phyllis Schlafly

Phyllis is still as sharp as ever.

The conference is co-hosted by Phyllis and Janet Folger Porter

Rick Larsen Votes to Fund Prostitution

Yesterday, the House of Representatives followed the Senate’s lead and voted overwhelmingly to cut off the corrupt radical group ACORN from all federal funding. This is an important and rare victory for conservatives coming out of this liberal Congress. Few politicians are willing to defend ACORN any more. Unbelievably, 75 liberals (including 2nd CD Rep. Rick Larsen!) did vote to keep giving your tax dollars to ACORN! You can find the roll call vote here.

Reject Senate Bill 5688 to Preserve Marriage!

There is some confusion on this issue as we shift away from the battle cry of "support R-71" to "reject SB 5688" (via R-71). R-71 is the vehicle that brings a Same-Sex Marriage Bill (Senate Bill 5688) to a vote of the people. Vote REJECT!

SB 5688 is primarily about homosexual marriage---not benefits.

Senator Ed Murray told the Seattle Times ( Jan. 10, 2007), when announcing the Domestic Partnership Bill, "The goal is marriage equality. It's an important statement that our eyes are on the prize, and the prize is marriage." Representative Jamie Pederson told the Times ( Jan. 28, 2009) that SB 5688 will give homosexuals "A bridge until they can legally marry."

Senator Murray told the Times ( May 17, 2009) that the domestic partnership expansion ( SB 5688) is an, "incremental approach"---"a strategic plan."

SB 5688 is the last incremental step to same-sex marriage in Washington State.

Judge shields signatures in gay-rights referendum

The Seattle Times

A federal judge has continued to keep private the names and addresses of those who signed Referendum 71, saying they likely are protected under the First Amendment and that the state failed to prove a compelling public interest in their release.

U.S. District Judge Benjamin Settle in Tacoma granted a preliminary injunction today, blocking the state from making the petitions public. Read more.

The RIGHT Alternatives

by Jed Babbin

After a disastrous August recess for the president’s Obamacare plan, Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority leader Harry Reid will call Congress back into session today.

Did they learn anything during “teachable August”? Apparently not. The national unemployment rate is still rising (exceeding the worst level in more than 26 years), the war -- in both Iraq and Afghanistan -- is going badly, and Congress will be devoting all its time and energy to health care “reform.”

But there are better ideas than Obamacare, budget-busting government growth and the economy-killing “cap and trade” global warming tax. Unsurprisingly, they are ideas that conservatives have been proposing all year and on which the national media has imposed an electronic blockade. The hackneyed calumny “Republicans have no alternative” has been applied to everything from the faux-stimulus to Obama’s bloated budget to health care. Enough. Read more.

When Bush spoke to students, Democrats investigated

By: Byron York
Chief Political Correspondent

The controversy over President Obama's speech to the nation's schoolchildren will likely be over shortly after Obama speaks today at Wakefield High School in Arlington, Virginia. But when President George H.W. Bush delivered a similar speech on October 1, 1991, from Alice Deal Junior High School in Washington DC, the controversy was just beginning. Democrats, then the majority party in Congress, not only denounced Bush's speech -- they also ordered the General Accounting Office to investigate its production and later summoned top Bush administration officials to Capitol Hill for an extensive hearing on the issue. Why did the press ignore the Van Jones scandal?

By: Byron York
Chief Political Correspondent

On March 13, 2008, ABC News broke the story that Barack Obama's longtime pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, had made a number of incendiary statements from the pulpit of Obama's church in Chicago. The most inflammatory of those remarks was Wright's notorious "God damn America" sermon.

The news set off a media firestorm. "God damn America" was in the papers, magazines, the Internet, television, radio. It was everywhere, except one place: the news pages of America's most powerful newspaper, the New York Times. In the days, weeks, and months following the ABC report, the Times' news pages repeatedly failed to inform its readers that Wright had ever uttered those infamous words.

Now, the Times has failed to report another story, this time one that led to the resignation of a White House official much loved by many on the left, "green jobs" czar Van Jones. Read more.
